Shared Stories from Cindy Pulliam
My name is Cindy Pulliam. I have lived with Epilepsy all of my life since I was 7 months old. The doctors never determined the cause of my epilepsy. I lived a semi-normal childhood considering my mother sheltered me. I was always told as a youth growing up that I would never be able to drive and that I would never be able to live on my own.
I am now 39 years old divorced and soon to be remarried. I had two beautiful children.
My son's name was Tony and he passed away from Congestive Heart Failure 19 years ago.
My daughter's name was Cassie. (photo left) She passed away 5 years ago from a severe Grand Mal seizure in her sleep. She was twelve years old when she died and the light of my life.
I am involved with Camp Fire USA and every year we hold a fund raiser for the scholarship program that I set up for her in her memory. I also lecture to High School Psychology students about Epilepsy. That not only helps me to deal with what I have but it helps me deal with what happened to my beautiful daughter.
