CIRCLE  OF  LOVE  AND  LIFE  FOR  EPILEPSY
                       
Circle of Love and Life for Epilepsy is a newly formed service group in Johnson County, Kansas.  We began August of 2007.  Our aim is to expand and include all of the Kansas City Metropolitan area.  Our numbers are few and we invite people with caring hearts and helping hands to join us to share in this opportunity in service. 

OUR MISSION: To bring the condition of Epilepsy into the light of understanding and acceptance through improving public awareness, raising funds for research for a cure by having activities with in the Kansas City metropolitan area (from Johnson County, KS to Jackson County, MO. and wherever we are invited for sharing this information and service.)  It’s all about Love and Life.

We can be a voice of encouragement, compassion and a conduit of further education to the public about epilepsy for these following reasons: First, the people who deal with epilepsy are also people of worth.  We believe in them and want them to know we are working to improve their esteem and hope that every day can be a better day.  Second, is to educate the public about this condition in hopes of reaching those who may have symptoms such as unexplained lack of consciousness so they might find the help or treatment available for them.  The third reason is for our metropolitan community to become more involved in raising funds for research and support for these many people ( 1-2% of the population in our Kansas City community deal with the condition of epilepsy.)  Life is more worth living when there is support and service from family, friends, neighbors and community.   

Our circle will include community activities such as fund raising events i.e. cell phone drive, fund raising luncheons, teas, chats; seminars about the facts of what epilepsy is; what the available helps are for patients and where the specialists are located in the Kansas City Metropolitan area as well as sharing success stories of improved health and individuals achievements.  The proceeds from sales are contributed through Kansas University Endowment Association and St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation to assist with Epilepsy research for a cure.
 
The Circle of Love and Life for Epilepsy has applied for 501c3 status as a not for profit organization.
